Sla. Healthy fast food. A huge succes. It all started in 2013 with one location in Amsterdam but in two years they expanded to 5 locations with even more to come. Every location is perfectly styled by the team of Nicemakers with lots of plants, more green, wood, honeycomb tiles and inspiring little details. Of course everything is prepared with honest, seasonal ingredients. Create your own salad or choose for one of their suggestions, take a vegetable soup on the side, add a detox juice with super foods and end your meal with a sugarless pie. Then go for a run and call yourself a healthfreak. Kidding, it’s the Rotterdam-Amsterdam rivalry. Just a bit jealous for Amsterdam having five locations and Rotterdam zero. Preview Bertmans, Rotterdam
Everyone who’s already got ‘eating more healthy food’ on their resolutions list for 2015 pay attention! On January 6th Bertmans will open it’s doors in Rotterdam. Here you can start your day with a cold pressed veggie juice or a home-made smoothie accompanied by a gluten-free salad or a healthy, warming soup. During the photo shoot I did for them I already had the change to taste some of their delicious dishes. I can guarantee you it won’t be difficult to follow that New Year’s resolution if you go to Bertmans for breakfast or lunch!

Some people who know me might think I cannot give an objective opinion about Picknick but I can assure you I already fell in love with this place before I fell in love with the owner. I’ve been a big fan since the beginning when I already used Picknick as a social hang-out every Tuesday afternoon, eating scones with my friends. The scones never left the menu but I’ve found some new favorites like the home smoked salmon sandwich, the soft-boiled eggs with truffle mayonaise and the healthy acai bowl with fresh fruit and homemade granola. The best feel good and healthy food of Rotterdam.
